Celebrate The Alleys

Join Tewkesbury Alleycats for the Celebrate The Alleys Exhibition at The Roses Theatre from 10th April to 1st May.

Celebrate the beauty, history and art of Tewkesbury's ancient alley ways.

Alleycat wants to display art works in and around the alleys. It is their belief that making and viewing art strengths community bonds and promotes pride in place. And that it can be a lot of fun. In this exhibition, local artists in many media will show how they would meet the challenge of working in long, narrow, ancient walkways.

Artists who work on a large scale will display sketches and proposals for alley work. Those who work in small scale will display some of the actual work.

We also want to involve local people of all ages and abilities.

Cat Drawing Workshop

Learn the noble art of drawing cats. Start with a few simple lines, a couple of circles, and soon you could have a fine ex- ample of haughty Persian, sleek Siamese, tail-less Manx or domestic moggie. Or maybe you’d prefer to turn a simple pebble into a stone cat with a few strokes of a pen. Artist & teacher Maxine Williams will lead the workshop.

Come along to Alleycat’s free workshop and get drawing.

Places are limited and need to be booked via The Roses box office.
